The Casa Calado is a modernist building to be restored from 1905, built by the Catalan architect Eduard M. Balcells i Buigas. It is located in the Torre Negra sector in the municipality of Sant Cugat del Vallès in the province of Barcelona and forms part of the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia, a house with a built area of 704 m² on a plot of 7,029 m² according to the land registry. In the building of the Casa Calado, with a rectangular floor plan, the ironwork on the railings, doors and grilles, made with braiding, is particularly noteworthy. Also noteworthy are the large windows, the majolica details with modernist motifs, the experimentation with materials to create new effects, such as the base of the pilaster in the form of a fossilised trunk, or the pilasters of the gate made with pallets and stone mixed with mortar. On the first floor there are different rooms for the usual use of a house, such as bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living rooms.the first floor is an open-plan space through which you can access the tower of the house with excellent views of the whole Vallés. the tower with its folded Dutch roof, the bay window and its railing.
